I am an experienced Automation Engineer with a passion for problem-solving and a keen interest in transitioning into the dynamic field of cybersecurity. With a strong foundation in engineering principles, I have honed my skills in designing and optimizing complex systems to operate seamlessly. As I embark on this exciting journey into cybersecurity, my ability to analyze intricate technical challenges, coupled with my dedication to continuous learning, positions me well to contribute effectively to the world of digital defense.

CompTIA Security+ When I found out that I was very interested in the cybersecurity field I didn't know where to start from. Things were either too simple or too complicated with countless abbreviations which I didn't understand. The security+ certification turned out to be a good middle ground for me. It's an important and well known certificate which also happened to be fairly understandable for someone with no significant prior knowledge like me at that point.

Harvard's CS50x After completing the Security+ certification I wanted to expand my general knowledge in the computer science field. To help me both understand the logical concepts used in programming and also learn how to implement them myself. This proved to be very useful as the concepts, syntax and many other things I learned there, I get to use now in other projects that I do.

The pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, and hydraulics certification This certification I got while studying in university for my engineering degree. It encompasses both the mechanical side of machinery and the construction of the logic which would operate over that machinery.

Bachelor's project details:

The main subject of my bachelors degree was automation and control engineering trough the use of computing and internet connectivity. The emphasis was on the ability to control vast structures of different types of machinery trough SCADA systems. This required from me and my student colleagues to be knowledgeable in the mechanical field, just as much as we had to know about the control programming and theoretical explanations of the different types regulators which could be used.

My final project was to improve an already existing project from a previous year with the focus on safety for the operator who uses it. It included the implementation of multiple sensors that would track different thing and a revised control scheme for the PLC to be able to use those sensors and respond accordingly. I had to be familiar with theoretical electro engineering, Siemens PLC programming, mechanics and schematics drawing for that project.

I love motorcycle riding, exploring and travel. Hiking in the mountains and camping. I also enjoy learning about finance, technology and all kinds of engineering. Currently I am hoping to start a career in the cybersecurity field, because I find it very interesting and engaging. I am doing some Hack the Box challenges and attended Bsides Sofia twice already, in 2022 and 2023.
